Another good choice for nature-lovers, this picturesque walkway leads from the quaint New England village of Sandwich over a creek and through coastal salt marshes to a public beach on Cape Cod Bay.

Inside Tip: Hurricane Bob wiped out the original structure in 1991, but a community effort generated funds to rebuild the boardwalk by selling sponsorships for each and every plank along the way.
