Colonial Classic Near the Revolution's Birthplace Thomas Bond House is a B&B in a 17th-century house
The Thomas Bond House takes you back in time to pre-Revolutionary days, when members of the First Continental Congress gathered at the nearby City Tavern (www.citytavern.com) to lay the groundwork for an insurrection. The brick house, built in 1769, is now leased from the National Park Service and privately operated as a bed and breakfast inn. The Thomas Bond House makes an ideal base for exploring Independence National Historical Park and other attractions of Center City Philadelphia.
The inn has 12 rooms in various sizes, all decorated in Federal Period style with double- or queen-size beds. Two rooms feature separate sitting areas and working fireplaces as well. All rooms feature private bathrooms, cable television, individual heating and air-conditioning controls and other amenities not available to the original owner, a physician who co-founded the nations first hospital with Benjamin Franklin.
Rates start at $135 per night, including continental breakfast on weekdays or full breakfast on weekends, as well as nightly wine and cheese and evening snacks.
