Best Western's Independence Park Hotel feels like anything but a chain hotel. Its 36 comfortable rooms are housed in a converted 19th-century commercial building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, so this Best Western feels more like a cozy private inn than a cookie-cutter chain hotel.

Rooms are decorated in period furnishings and have high ceilings, private bathrooms, king- or queen-size beds and motel-like amenities. Rates include self-service breakfast in a glass-enclosed courtyard and afternoon tea and cookies in the parlor.

The location is just two blocks from Independence Hall in the heart of colonial Philadelphia, offering easy pedestrian access to Independence National Historic Park and other historic sites.

Double rates start at $130. Senior and AAA discounts are available.
