As CEO of California-based Intel Corporation, Craig Barrett spends much of his time in the high-tech, high-pressure environment of Silicon Valley, but the 65-year-old executives true passion resides in the remote Bitterroot Valley of western Montana. In 1993, Barrett and his wife Barbara acquired the Triple Creek Ranch 75 miles south of Missoula and turned it into a top-shelf dude ranch where guests enjoy truly luxurious accommodations surrounded by some of the Wests most unspoiled mountain wilderness.
The 450-acre property adjoining the rugged terrain of Bitterroot National Forest has a spacious lodge and 19 well-appointed cabins operated as an all-inclusive adults-only retreat. In addition to miles of spectacular hiking and riding trails and first-rate fly-fishing on the Bitterroot River, the ranch offers an outdoor pool, several hot tubs (some private), tennis, a putting green and an elegant restaurant in the main lodge.
Nightly rates range from $510 to $995 per couple and include all meals and drinks as well as trail rides, fly-casting lessons and other activities.
