If there’s one sure bet in all of Las Vegas, this is it. No single entertainer better personifies the heady, optimistic spirit that drives Las Vegas than the flamboyant virtuoso pianist known as "Mr. Showmanship." While Liberace the man passed away back in 1987, Liberace the legend lives on at this remarkable museum, really more of a shrine than a lifeless collection of artifacts, located in a strip mall about 2 ½ miles east of the Strip.

On display are some of Liberace’s flashy pianos and even flashier automobiles, along with examples of his extravagant jewelry and stage costumes and a replica of his Palm Springs bedroom. After touring the museum, stop by the gift shop to pick up a candelabra for your piano back home, or stock up on CDs of the maestro playing everything from Chopin, one of Liberace’s favorite composers, to "Begin the Beguine" and the "Beer Barrel Polka."

Singer and pianist Wes Winters performs Liberace tribute concerts every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 1 p.m. in the museum’s Grand Gallery. The space is also rented out for special events, which is definitely something to keep in mind if you’re planning a Vegas wedding.

Proceeds from museum admission fees ($12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students) benefit the nonprofit he Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts, which provides scholarship grants to music students.
