Although Las Vegas has no real high or low seasons for tourism, there are periods of peak demand when room rates soar, shows are booked solid and the Strip gets uncomfortably crowded. Major holidays are always busy, and the city’s extremely successful meeting and convention facilities can bring tens of thousands of visitors to the strip at any given time.

If you have some flexibility about when you go, steer clear of the holidays and consult the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority Convention Calendar to find out when the Strip will be overwhelmed with convention delegates.

Convention business aside, the Strip tends to be less crowded on weekdays than on weekends, and visitor arrivals dip somewhat during the extremely hot months of July and August.
