Spa services are now de rigueur at large vacation resorts, so it's no surprise that Casa de Campo, a 7,000-acre Caribbean retreat known for its laid-back style, recently added a full menu of massage and beauty treatments to its extensive sports and activities program. Now, between rounds of golf [link to golf article] and tennis, skeet shooting, sailing, fishing and diving excursions, mountain biking and horseback trail rides, guests can have their bodies buffed, rubbed and slathered with a wide range of salubrious mineral and botanical brews.

Among the body treatments offered are some that sound good enough to eat. The Cinnamon Sugar Body Treat ($60 USD for 40 minutes), uses local cane sugar, sweet almond seed and cinnamon. The Peppermint Sea Twist ($110 USD for 60 minutes) combines peppermint oil with freshly harvested seaweed. The center also offers Swedish ($60 for 50 minutes), shiatsu ($65 USD for 50 minutes) and aromatherapy massage ($75 USD for 50 minutes), along with foot reflexology, hair removal and a choice of 11 different facials.

Accommodations at the resort include rooms and suites ranging from $224 USD to $993 USD, double occupancy, and two-, three- and four-bedroom villas from $577 USD to $2,256 USD a night. Capacity at the spa is limited, so the resort advises guests to book spa services at the same time they reserve their accommodations.
