Home Away From Home Great Places to Stay: Cady House Bed and Breakfast
One of several fine B&Bs in town, this private home on a quiet residential street in Providence's East Side historic district offers comfortable accommodations at reasonable rates near Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. The sweet classical-revival house built in 1838 belongs to innkeepers Bill and Anna Colaiace, who have decorated the rooms with a multicultural mix of folk art and other artifacts collected in the course of travels around the world.
Each of the three guest rooms has a queen-size bed, telephone, television and private bathroom. Continental breakfast is served in the formal dining room or, weather permitting, on a pleasant garden patio. Guests should be aware that the Colaiaces have two dogs, and smoking is only permitted in the garden.
The cost, including breakfast and off-street parking, is $105 for double occupancy, $95 single. For additional B&B listings, see the Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau Web site at www.providencecvb.com/visitors.
