Pinehurst is more than an hour's drive from the nearest major airports, Raleigh-Durham International (74 miles away) and Piedmont Triad International (87 miles away in Greensboro), but you also have the option of connecting through Charlotte or Atlanta to Fayetteville Regional Airport about 48 miles away. Complimentary transportation is available around the resort property, but for airport transfers and exploring the Pinehurst area, you're much better off renting a car upon arrival.

On-site lodging is available in three separate hotels, each with its own distinct character. The most luxurious accommodations are in The Carolina, a grand turn-of-the-century hotel with 210 rooms and 12 suites, and in Pinehurst's first hotel, the 110-year-old Holly Inn, which as 77 rooms and three suites. The least expensive rooms are in The Manor, which offers 45 rooms and a somewhat more casual atmosphere. The property also features a selection of newer villas and condos that can be a good choice for families and small groups.

Along with the eight golf courses, guests of the Pinehurst Resort have access to 24 tennis courts, two swimming pools, a spa and fitness center, a 200-acre private lake set up for swimming, boating and fishing, and a range of dining options in the hotels and clubhouses.
