Back to Great Golf, Hot Deals

Pinehurst Resort really isn't a budget travel destination, but by choosing your dates and lodging options wisely it is possible to keep costs from getting out of control. Rates generally peak in springtime and early autumn, with the best deals typically available from mid-November through February and during the hot summer months. Green fees do not rise on weekends, so there's no advantage to choosing weekday tee times.

The least expensive hotel rooms are at The Manor, though for families or small groups, a villa or condo rental could be more economical. Before booking your stay, check the Pinehurst website (www.pinehurst.com) for special offers, then get a reservations agent on the phone to help you select a golf package appropriate for the amount of time you plan to spend on the fairways. Travelers with flexible travel schedules should check for last-minute discounts, which are listed on the "Rates & Specials" page of the website (look for the "FAST Hot Rates" link). In summer, children age 17 and under accompanied by a parent can stay, eat and play golf for free.

If the least expensive packages are still beyond your means, you could try booking a budget motel in the area and playing as a day guest at the resort, though non-resident green fees are priced high to encourage golfers to stay on-site. Another option for those who are planning a longer stay in the Sandhill area is to book the cheapest available two-night golf package for a chance to play at Pinehurst, then move to less costly accommodations while you try some of the other courses nearby.
