Plan a Dream Vacation With the KidsPresented by Walt Disney Parks When planning a family dream vacation with children of various ages, let the kids help too. By assigning age-appropriate tasks, you'll keep each child excited about the trip.
- Discuss travel plans with kids.
Start by assembling a vacation countdown calendar and ask the kids to keep track of the number of days until your departure.
- Turn packing into a game.
Turn packing for the trip into a scavenger hunt. Give each child a list with a few items you'll need. Let them be responsible for finding and packing those things. Don't forget to have each child pack some favorite entertainment for the trip, as well.
- Bring plenty of digital memory.
Put the kids in charge of documenting your trip. Give older children a digital camera to capture the fun. For younger kids, bring a small sketchpad and crayons so they can draw pictures of special moments or activities.
- Create a blog to share the experience.
When you return home, create a vacation blog online to share with friends and family. Upload the photos and drawings, then add captions and comments for a kid's eye view of the trip.
