Train fans will love this popular Griffith Park museum. Trains of all shapes and sizes are available for riding, for climbing, and for just looking. For a nominal fee take a minature train ride, they leave the depot every ten minutes. Picnic tables available on first-come basis.

Will Rogers State Beach
Take advantage of the almost-year-round beach weather in LA and head to this three-mile-long, mostly sandy beach. Enjoy beginning surfing, swimming, picnicking, and surf fishing. Volleyball nets, gym equipment, restrooms, and a playground make this a good choice for families. A lifeguard is on duty.

Children's Garden
The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens
Designed for ages 2-7, this unique garden space features a series of kinetic sculptures set in a whimsical landscape. Kids can walk under a rainbow in a circle of mist, disappear in a sea of billowing fog, hold magnetic sand and hear the music of pebbles falling through a chime and much more.
