Now, we're off to tiny Richburg, South Carolina. Home to the Interior Alternative, a direct-to-the-public outlet located in F. Schumacher's (Waverly, Greeff and Village brands) central distribution and sample-manufacturing facility. Actually, there are four other Interior Alternative stores, mostly in the Northeast, but this location holds the double honor of being both the largest and the only location where you can purchase the same bedding and accessories used in product photos.
Here, you'll find wallpaper, comforter sets, pillows, chair cushions, window treatments, fabric trims and yard after yard of gorgeous, luxurious, decorator-quality fabrics. Waverly has long been known for their high-end attention to detail and cozy cottage-y style. The comforter sets and other decorative accessories sold here are a combination of discontinued patterns, factory seconds (often with barely noticeable flaws) and samples. Generally, the fabric, which can be purchased by the bolt or by the yard, is discontinued patterns or factory overruns of current patterns.
Everything here is offered at truly bargain prices that are as much as 70 percent less than what you would pay if purchasing these items through a decorator or department store. Because these are true close-outs, inventory is limited to whatever they have on hand that day, so no custom orders. Also, shipping services are not available, so be prepared to take anything you purchase with you. Luckily, unless you went into a fabric-buying frenzy (a real possibility when faced with bolts of high-end fabrics at bargain prices), most anything you would buy here should fit into your vehicle's cargo area.
