Chris Adams and hosts Gia Russo and Michele Adams pose at the Farmers Market.

  • If you place the dining table under a tree, make sure it's not one that sheds leaves, flowers or bugs.
  • Water plants after the party so they don't drain onto your table.
  • There is no difference in the taste of white or brown eggs.
  • Chanterelle mushrooms, tomatoes and chives add great flavor to simple scrambled eggs. If you can't find chanterelles, substitute another variety such as shiitake or small brown cremini. Add a half cup sliced prosciutto for a great boost of flavor.
  • In food presentation, frozen peaches hold up better than fresh ones.
  • For crisper French toast, preheat the baking pan with two tablespoons of butter for 10 minutes.
  • For a timesaver, buy a fresh or frozen quiche or frittata from a bakery or gourmet market.
