Recipes from Home by David Page, Barbara Shinn, Calvin Trillin
A wonderful culinary journey that takes the reader from the author's childhood memories in the Midwest through their time spent in California and now New York's Long Island. They share family recipes as well as many innovative translations of American classics. It's rare to find a book that not only is an ode to the Midwest, California and New England, three of our most cherished culinary regions, but also provides a personnel glimpse into the author's lives.

Barbara Biziou

Author and teacher of Practical Spirituality Barbara Biziou is America's foremost ritual expert. She offers wonderfully creative solutions to the challenges faced by modern families. She believes that ritual can help even the most loving family share more meaningful moments together, even in the face of mundane family activities like meal time and bed time — as well as help bring healing and wholeness to families in distress. She shows people how to incorporate spirituality into their existing lifestyles and hectic schedules, without creating extra work or stress!

"We're all searching for a foothold in the past, and for peace and meaning in the chaos of modern life. We all want to give our children a place of refuge and a sense of predictability. We all wish to make the difficult times easier and the unknown feel safer. Rituals have served these functions for ancient cultures; and rituals can now do the same for us, too." — Barbara Biziou.
