Next, visit Camp Sunshine with Hannah Campbell, a former camper-tuned-volunteer at this retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses. And finally, hear the amazing story of Carol Guber, who was told she had diabetes and used that life-changing experience to take charge of her life.
Whitewater Rafting Facts:
- Most trips have guides who lead you down the river and act as lifeguards.
- Rapids are classified between 1 and 6, from less severe to more.

- Check the Yellow Pages for "outriggers" or "whitewater rafting."
- Look for rivers classified 1 or 2 if you are traveling with small children.
- Bring a change of clothes, fresh water, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.

Camp Sunshine Facts:
- This year Camp Sunshine hosted two special weeks for children who lost someone during the Sept. 11 attacks.
- The camp accommodates 40 families a week, free of charge.
- Without volunteers, the camp would not survive. Volunteers saved the camp $170,000 last year.
