San Francisco Row House Breathing Room : Episode FLBRM-304
John and Mildred Wong transformed their 1911 San Francisco Row House into the perfect family home, building up, rather than out. They renovated their space to appear larger by building a 32-foot high skylight at the top of their dining room. Inspired by architect I.M. Pei, they built their own "pyramid skylight" similar to the one in front of the Louvre. The interior walls of the home are white to better showcase their art collection, and the dining room was specifically built under the skylight to give the room a bigger feel.
