Seattle, reclaimed lumber home The original house on Jim Dow's site was built in the early 1900s, complete with the area's first home swimming pool. Three years ago the Seattle contractor built his own 6,000 square foot home on the two acres of land, working to incorporate some trees that are more than a century old into the landscape. Inside, Dow used reclaimed lumber for ceilings and walls and designer David Root incorporated high ceilings to help let in the light. Dow's "breathing room" is off of the master bedroom, a small reading room that has a chair and ottoman with views of the back yard and the creek that flows across the property. For his daughter, Dow positioned a Steinway piano in the living room under 25-foot ceilings to allow for better acoustics. Featured furnishings are listed below:

Santa Fe, Adobe brick home Influenced by growing up in New Mexico, Matt Pacheco decided to create his home in the Adobe style. Nearly 9,000 adobe bricks make up the wall surrounding the one-acre property and the dwelling features a curved roofline that represents the rolling hills of the New Mexico terrain. One of the Pacheco's house's most unique features is a 30-foot long sculpture of a lizard made of adobe and mounted on the home's exterior. Pacheco also incorporated Vigas (barkless tree trunks) and Latillas (branches) in his home's roof. Its floor plan is open to allow different levels and a lot of light. The master bath is 600 square feet and filled with mosaic tiles on the walls. Featured furnishings are listed below:
