Champagne and Pomegranate Cocktail Pomegranates are starting to come into season in the fall, though they're at their sweetest in early winter. A dash of cassis a currant-flavored liqueur found in most liquor stores adds some much needed sugar.

To get as many whole arils ('seeds') as possible, try this trick: After cutting the pomegranate in half, turn it upside down over a bowl and tap the back of the shell with a wooden spoon. Be careful of your clothes and any pristine white countertops the juice can stain if it's not cleaned up quickly!
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon fresh pomegranate arils, optional
4 ounces Champagne
1/2 teaspoon store bought pomegranate juice
1 teaspoon cassis Directions:
- Place fresh pomegranate arils, if using, into a Champagne flute.
- Pour Champagne into flute, add pomegranate juice and cassis.
