The grand finale of the fireworks is the right time to toast and down this layered shooter, says Dan Goss, managing partner of the Downtown Grill and Brewery in Knoxville, TN, the city that's home to the standout fireworks fest known as Boomsday on Labor Day Weekend. "You don't want to sip it, or you get to the grenadine and it ain't so yummy."
Goss developed the drink when a bar where he was working didn't have anything red, white and blue for the 4th and has shared it with countless patrons since.
Ingredients:
1 oz. Curacao
1 oz. Stoli vodka
1 oz. Sweet and Sour
1/2 oz. grenadine
Instructions:
1. Pour the Curacao into a martini or shot glass.
2. Add Stoli and Sweet and Sour to a shaker and shake the heck out of it, until the Sweet and Sour foams white at the top, pour into glass.
3. Carefully pour the grenadine down the side of the glass. It has so much sugar in it it will sink to the bottom, giving you tri-color layers.
