 All-American Whiskey Stone Sour

Weber Kettle Grills have been manufactured by a family-owned company in Illinois since 1952 and Weber Grill Restaurants employ them for classic American barbecue in Chicago and at their other two Illinois locations. The restaurants use another American creation to make this signature drink.
"In 1964, bourbon was officially recognized by the United States Congress as 'Americas Native Spirit,' and that's why it's the base for the drink," says Corporate Mixologist Kyle McHugh. "We use Makers Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky because it uses winter wheat instead of spicier rye as part of its mash bill, so it has a smooth approachability that even non-bourbon drinkers can enjoy. The other ingredients are all fresh, too, so it's the perfect refresher for a hot summer day."
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Makers Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky
3 1/2 oz. fresh Sweet and Sour Mix
3 1/2 oz. freshly squeezed orange juice
Instructions:
1. Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker
2. Shake vigorously for five seconds
3. Strain into a highball glass over fresh ice
4. Garnish with an orange and cherry "flag"
To make fresh Sweet and Sour Mix:
Ingredients:
1 quart water
1 quart fresh lime juice (lemon juice can be substituted to taste)
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 egg white (optional, gives a great frothiness to any shaken drink)
Stir ingredients together until sugar is fully dissolved.
