The Stevie Pomagreenie 2008
A great signature cocktail "party starter." It’s delicious, refreshing and it’s healthy for you. It combines all the antioxidant benefits from green tea and pomegranates, right down to the sweetener -- stevia, an all-natural South American herb that has zero calories, zero glycemic index, and reduces one's craving for fatty foods and sweets. Not a bad way to start off the New Year, eh?

Ingredients:

pomegranate green tea
pomegranate juice
stevia (liquid or packets, sold at most health food stores or at www.stevia.com)
vodka
raspberry or cranberry garnish (or other seasonal berry)
club soda for nonalcoholic (optional)

Preparation:
A day or two before your guests arrive, prepare your pomegranate green tea mixture. Steep 3 bags of pomegranate green tea in 1 quart of hot water. (Do not boil the water, and steep for a maximum of three minutes.) Remove the tea bags and pour the tea into a pitcher or other container. Sweeten by adding 2 full drops or packets of stevia. Add 4 ounces of pomegranate juice. Refrigerate.

On the day of the party serve this delicious and refreshing tea on the rocks and add 1-1/2 to 2 oz. of vodka. Garnish by dropping 4 or more raspberries or cranberries into the glass.

For a nonalcoholic cocktail: Top with club soda instead of vodka.
