After youve taken in the sounds of Music City, treat yourself to one of Nashvilles most beautiful sights, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Built in 1934 as a downtown post office, the Frist building got a multimillion-dollar renovation at the turn of the 21st century to restore it to its Art Deco grandeur.
The nonprofit centers 24,000 square feet of gallery space hosts a range of renowned historical and contemporary traveling collections. Recent highlights include Treasures of Ancient Egypt, an exhibition of paintings of modern masters from Monet to Dali, and the sculptures of Auguste Rodin. New works of art rotate into exhibits every six to eight weeks, so log on to the center's website to find out which exhibits coincide with your trip.
