- Jerry Austin has raced in the Iditarod 18 times and has finished in the Top 10 six times. He is in the Iditarod Hall of Fame.
- The Fantasy Camp runs January through mid March, Saturday to Friday and costs $1,995, which includes all meals and lodging.
- Campers range in age from 7 to 70. No previous dog sledding experience is needed.
- Arctic parkas, bibs, mitts, boots and sleeping bags are provided.
- Campers travel about five hours a day and cover 25 miles.
- Campers feed and take care of their dogs on the trip, feeding them high-calorie meals and snacks at regular intervals. .
- Campers themselves eat wild game and fish, which are harvested locally.
- In case of emergency, at least one snowmobile accompanies each trip.
