Set up your next shot and get rid of background clutter!

HP presents: Taking Great Digital PhotosApply these five simple techniques and take better quality digital photos:
- Get within 2 - 4 feet of subject
Get close when taking portraits even if it seems uncomfortable. This is where you get great photos. Aim to have about 90 percent person and 10 percent background in your picture.
- Cut the Clutter
If there's anything unsightly in the background, move it or move yourself to eliminate it. Prepare your own props to make the photo more interesting.
- Try a New Angle
Experiment with different viewpoints to find interesting angles and get a new perspective on your subject. Get down on the ground or take the photo from up high.
- Avoid using the flash whenever possible
Use natural light for a more flattering tone and higher quality image. Have your subject sit sideways next to a window or door. Indirect light is softer and makes for beautiful pictures.
- Take lots of pictures
Snap away and have fun with your digital camera! You don't have to be frugal; you can simply delete the pictures you don't like. And the more pictures you take, the better your chances of getting a great shot.
