Fondue EtiquetteAside from being a unique dining experience, fondue is the ultimate romantic meal.
Fine Living entertaining experts Michele Adams and Gia Russo (aka Migi Girls) give us the dos and don'ts of fondue etiquette:
- Use your fondue fork to spread bite-sized morsel of food, then dip and swirl it into the cheese. Hold it over the sauce, allowing any excess to drip back into the pot. You can also bring your plate up under the bite to avoid dripping as well.
- Avoid spreading germs by only biting onto the food.
It is improper to put the whole fork into your mouth. You can also slide the piece of food off your fondue fork onto your plate and use a dinner fork.
- Never dip your food into the pot with your fingers.
Aside from the germ factor, you'll burn yourself.
- A don't that actually can be an interesting do?
Traditionalists say if you drop a piece of food into the pot, you have to kiss the person next to you? now that's romantic! Make the fondue experience easy, fun, and delicious.
