Get your kids involved with family meal planning by allowing them to pick new recipes and make their own grocery list.

5 Things You Need to Know About Family Meal Planning

Presented by Chrysler

  1. Get kids involved.
Peak their interest in cooking by allowing them to pick new recipes.

  2. Create a grocery list.
Task your kids with writing their own list from chosen recipes. Challenge them to plan a balanced meal representing the major food groups.

  3. Go shopping.
When possible, take the kids and explore new places like ethnic grocers or farmer's markets. Exposure to such unique places offers valuable learning opportunities.

  4. Pick a theme.
Talk about ways to decorate the table to match the cuisine. For example, on Italian night make place cards, or if preparing Chinese, use chop sticks!

  5. Eat together.
Have fun and aim to share meals frequently to reconnect as a family. If dinnertime is too hectic, try breakfast!
