Summer Party CDs
Planning a "chill-out" party for a warm summer night? Set the right vibe with three of our favorite discs:
Waltz For Koop
On their second CD, Waltz For Koop, this Swedish duo has created an intoxicating fusion of acid jazz, trip hop melodies and ethereal vocals. Tracks range from sultry and techno-infused ("Baby") to funky instrumentals ("Soul for Sahib.")
Soulful, atmospheric electronica from the Icelandic collective Gus Gus. The group's members have a rich background in the arts, which is reflected in their debut disc, Polydistortion. Tracks flow from the sparse, haunting melody of "Why" to hypnotic, with the techno-infused "Purple."
This Philly-based artist & producer mixes up a collection of funky and eclectic R&B. With International Affairs, Vikter Duplaix has created a disc full of surprises. Plenty of Afro-Cuban grooves, island beats and electro-soul (check out "Looking For Love" and "Tropical Girl.")
