SCRIPPS NETWORKS LAUNCHES HOME & LIVING ON DEMAND WITH ALTRIO
On Demand Programming from Home & Garden Television, Food Network, DIY-Do It Yourself Network and Fine Living Brings Choice, Convenience To TV Viewers

PASADENA, Calif. (September 22, 2003) – Altrio Communications is giving digital cable subscribers in Arcadia, Monrovia and Pasadena the chance to experience the convenience and functionality of Video On Demand (VOD) with a free preview of "Home & Living On Demand" now through September 30.

Available on Altrio’s BoxSeat Plus level of service (channel 901), "Home & Living On Demand" features more than 150 titles per month on HGTV On Demand, Food Network On Demand, DIY On Demand and Fine Living On Demand. The twist: On Demand offers functionality enabling viewers to start, stop, pause, rewind and fast-forward programs at their discretion.

"Video On Demand is the future of television, bringing the power of choice and convenience to viewers whose time is dictated by obligations to work, school, family and friends," said Hope Neiman, Altrio’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Altrio is offering ‘Home & Living On Demand’ as an option for subscribers who want to customize their television experience with DVD-like functionality."

Aside from the flexibility to control viewing options, "Home & Living On Demand" offers topical content.

"Some programs available on ‘Home & Living On Demand’ are more targeted than shows airing on our regular cable networks, but viewers can expect the same trusted content," said Channing Dawson, senior vice president of emerging media at Scripps Networks, the parent company of HGTV, Food Network, DIY and Fine Living. "For On Demand, we access material from our 15,000-hour library of programming to find shows, specials – even individual segments – to compile new topical titles of interest."

For example, HGTV On Demand features Building or Decorating; Food Network On Demand content is divided into Chef Dishes, including Emeril, Quick & Easy, and Specials & More. DIY On Demand categories are How-To and Hobbies, and Fine Living On Demand focuses on Simple Living and Trips, Cars & Fun.

New programming premieres every Monday, when 25 percent of the titles are refreshed. For detailed program listings and descriptions visit hgtvondemand.com, foodnetworkondemand.com, diyondemand.com and finelivingondemand.com.
