Dudley loves the mechanic's shop—or is it the treats he receives when he goes there?

Dudley, admittedly, has a fear of strangers. We're not sure why he's so skittish, but we do know that he was abandoned as a puppy and probably not treated very well by his first owners. Once he becomes acquainted with someone, however, that person becomes a permanent part of Dudley's "pack," and can expect the royal treatment from Dudley.

Because we live in our motor home, we camped out for a couple of days in Murray at Sirum GMC auto repair shop.

Staying at the shop for a few days gave everyone a chance to get to know Dudley. Francis, the office manager of the shop, fattened him up on doughnuts and eventually threatened to steal him from us. Whenever we call the shop, they always ask about Dudley and then, seemingly reluctantly, ask how we're doing, too. On our second trip to the shop, Dudley acted as if he was coming home, snuggling up to everyone and begging with impunity for treats. All in all, it's a good thing that our trusted mechanic is part of the "pack."
