Dudley's JournalDudley has no idea he played catch on the same field where Willie Mays played baseball, but he sure had fun. Dudley likes grass. He likes big fields of nicely mowed grass. He likes to run on it, play catch on it and roll around on it. We were able to take Dudley out onto the field at Rickwood, where he became our trusty shortstop, tearing after the grounders we sent his way.
Sometimes he'd bring the baseball right back. Other times he'd stop for a sniff around or a good hearty roll in center field. As a dog, he has no idea what baseball is, not to mention its complex rules, strategies and traditions. But even Dudley is smart enough to know that anyone who spends a lot of time running around on a grassy field has got to be barking up the right tree. |
