Dudley's Journal

What is it about skateboards and dogs? For Dudley, anything on small wheels must be chased and barked at. Rollerskaters, skateboarders, and, yes, even street lugers are at risk of having their heels nipped.

We've tried to figure out what makes skateboards so unappealing to Dudley. Could it be the sound? The strange movement of the board? Or maybe how the rider has to kick the ground to push the board forward? Dudley has had issues in the past with odd sounds, movement, and especially kicking. Because we don't know his full history (we rescued him when he was six months old), so we think he must have had some bad experiences with skateboards in his past.

However, based on our incredible experience with street luging, we've decided to try to get Dudley used to the sight and sound of a wooden board on small wheels racing down the street. Who knows? Maybe we'll even be able to get him to pull us along someday.
