Dudley's Journal In Dudley's mind there's only room for one little brown dog around here.

Some people claim that Dudley is a spoiled, over-privileged baby. They're right.

Dudley, Dudley, Dudley. Sure, it seems like we've focused quite sharply on our little brown companion this week, but in truth, we're celebrating the discovery that other people can get a dog like Dudley, which is quite different from getting Dudley himself. The truth is, for Dudley, this was a week of meeting and making a fuss over other dogs.
While Dudley is never overtly rude or aggressive toward other dogs, he can be pretty aloof. As other dogs jump around and try to play, Dudley delicately and studiously avoids them. He's an introvert, taking his sweet time to warm up to a new canine friend. So for him, the connection between him and the dogs we met this week was far too academic to be appreciated.
He didn't know these dogs from Adam, even if they were his distant cousins. These other dogs amounted to nothing more than competition for his parents' affections, turning our poor little Dudley into a dog rather than the dog, something that no dog wants to be.
