Dudley understands a thing or two about speed and comfort, but not necessarily at the same time. Speed is the only way to describe Dudley on the trail of a flying frisbee. The comfort, however, comes later--on the couch. Unfortunately, Dudley's speed may be a factor that keeps us away from a life on a boat. Even on Chris White's Atlantic 55, there isn't much room for a little brown dog to get up a good head of steam. And a lack of exercise can lead to a cranky little speed demon. In general, dogs and boats don't necessarily go well together; dogs can get seasick, their paws are unsteady on smooth, slippery decks, and there isn't nearly enough room to move around. But someday, we hope to bring our little brown dog and a big, beautiful multihulled sailboat together. If only Dudley liked to swim...
