Aleem Kassam

At 19 years of age, Aleem started his own freelance interior design business. He describes working for himself as involving long hours and hard work, but no day is ever the same and it is never boring.
Very close to both his parents, Aleem lives at home with his mom, 30-year-old half-brother and 17-year-old brother.
While Aleem has never been away from home, he's completely ready for his dream role to be Debbie's chief designer. "My experience and background have prepared me for this, and though my age may seem like a weakness, I think it just means people will underestimate just how much talent and potential I have as a designer," he says.

Amanda Broad
Age: 39
Occupation: Assistant designer

After leaving South Africa and starting a new life in Montreal, Amanda enrolled at the International Academy of Design and graduated in 2002. She currently works for an established interior designer working on high-end residential projects.
Moving from the United Kingdom to South Africa, Amanda and her husband led an exciting life with various career experiences from graphic design to the hospitality industry. While in South Africa, Amanda and her husband divorced and she was ready for some positive life experiences. Upon meeting a new man who had roots in Montreal, Amanda packed her bags and headed to Canada. "I am always looking for a challenge, challenging myself, and I think becoming Debbie's chief designer would be a huge achievement," she says.
