Botswana (107)Join an African-born woman for a pilgrimage back to her homeland. After many years in the US, she embarks on an Abercrombie & Kent photo safari through Botswana along with one of her children. Her goal: giving her daughter the gift of "seeing Africa through her mother's eyes."
Mother and daughter travel by car, small plane and even mokoro (small dugout canoe). They witness native wildlife including lions, hippos, giraffes and semi-habituated elephants. Their accommodations include the guest cottages of Chobe Chilwero, Stanley's Camp, and Chief's Camp. They explore the expansive Moremi Game Reserve and reflect on each day's amazing experiences.
