Travel with us to a remote five-star resort located in southwestern Colorado. Tall Timber is so secluded that guests can only arrive by steam engine train or helicopter. During our visit, we'll join the Leders, returning guests to the resort, as they take a helicopter fly fishing trip to Emerald Lake with a private lakeside picnic for two. Next, we'll accompany first-time guests Joyce and Walter as they take a long hike through the woods on one of Tall Timber's trails. See how both couples enjoy the peace and isolation of the great outdoors—without sacrificing all the amenities of modern life at this unique getaway.

• The train ride from Durango to Tall Timber takes 90 minutes; the helicopter ride is only 15 minutes.

• There is no traditional check-in. All guests are taken directly to their suites.

• A fly fishing guide and fishing equipment are available for an additional fee.

• The best time to fly fish is from mid-June through mid-September.

• Each guest is assigned a specific dining table for the week.
