The first sparkling wine house in the Sonoma Carneros region (40 miles northwest of San Francisco), Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards has invited visitors to discover cool-climate wines served with warm Spanish hospitality for more than 20 years. Owned by the Ferrer family, whose wine experience is rooted in 19th-century Spain, the winery is a vibrant blend of Catalan and California mission design, covering 335 acres of estate vineyards.

In 1991, inspired by the quality and character of their estate fruit, the vineyards began crafting still wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In subsequent years, the winegrowing team meticulously matched dozens of clones to the diverse growing conditions in the Ferrer estate vineyards with their sights on the highest quality grapes with more intense flavors and characteristics. Pioneers of sparkling wine-based clonal research, the Ferrers have studied more than 40 different clones to date.

Set in a stunning location, the winery’s sun-drenched Vista Terrace overlooks the beautiful estate vineyards, the perfect backdrop for enjoying a glass of sparkling or still wine. Savory Spanish and local cheeses, meats, almonds and other delicacies are available from our tasting room. The tasting room is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with wine service available until 4:45 pm.
