A photo collage of Douglas and Ombretta with their treasured Fiat 500.

Cinquecento Raduno (120)
The Fiat is the perfect car to have in Italy. Most city streets date back to medieval times and were never made for cars--they're very narrow and can be scary to drive if you're in a big automobile. In fact, one of the first things Douglas did when he starting driving in Italy was to put a big dent and a long scratch all the way down the right side of the car! Fortunately, he's getting better...

Ombretta: Every year there's a special event in our town, one that requires us to get out the bucket and sponge and give our car, a Fiat Cinquecento, a good wash.

Douglas: Each spring Fiat Cinquento Radunos, or "Road Rallies," are held all over the country. They give Italians a chance to get their cars back on the road after a long, cold winter...

Ombretta: And it gives people a chance to see just how beautiful these cars really are!
