Woodworker, Stone Mason, Ceramic Artist
Fourth-generation woodworker Evert Sodergren builds a traditional Japanese storage chest called a tansu in his Seattle, Wash., studio. Stone mason Mark Martin keeps a little of Kentucky's dry stone stacking tradition alive, as he builds a stone wall without using any mortar. Ceramic artist Joe Woodford builds a giant totem out of clay and fires it, using newspaper and a pit of sand.
