Hole #12

Course Description
Every hole of this Jack Nicklaus-designed 72-par layout offers sweeping ocean views. Several require precision shots from cliff-to-cliff using the Pacific, itself, as a water hazard.

Details
This 202-yard, par-3 is long and plays 150 feet above the crashing surf.

Why is it rated so highly?
The tee backs you up against the edge of the cliffs, dangling over the ocean, requiring a demanding 200-yard tee shot across the ocean.

How do you play it?
You can't plan to lay up in the fairway because this hole has no fairway, just ocean. Choose your tee wisely — closer to the green, the angle of the shot is less severe. The trade winds usually provide an extra lift, so alter your club choice accordingly. And definitely bring an extra ball.

Course Trivia
The surface is dark-red lava, reminding visitors that the islands were formed by volcanic eruptions centuries ago.

Green Fees
$165 per round for resort guests, who have priority
$205 for non-guests

Course Type
Caddies available but not required
