Course Description
The brainchild of former PGA Tour Commissioner Deane Beman, this 7,063-yard, par-72 course was created so many spectators could have a better view of the action.

Details
The carry on this legendary 132-yard, par-3 is just 100 yards, but entirely over water to an island green. A tiny pot bunker at the front of the green doesn't get much action, but sits directly in the player's view.

Why is it rated so highly?
Pros fear Pete Dye's creation because it falls near the end of one of the biggest PGA Tour events, The Players Championship. The rest fear the hole itself: a small green floating in the middle of a big lake.

How do you play it?
However you can, even the pros can do little more. More than 120,000 balls are fished out of the lake every year.

Course Trivia
In 1994, the golf world got its first close-up look at Tiger Woods when he won the U.S. Amateur here, holing a birdie putt on 17 to take a one-up lead.

Sprinkler heads mark distance to front, middle and back of the green; a few plaques on cart paths indicate 100-and 200-yard distances; tee markers indicate distance from each tee location

Can walk by bringing a caddie or renting a kangaroo — walking own bags prohibited, carts rented from course allowed
