Robert Salter, general manager of Turnbull & Asser's newly opened Beverly Hills store, filled us in on their custom shirts.

• The average fitting time for a custom-made shirt is thirty minutes.
  
• Once you've been fitted, Turnbull & Asser will keep your measurements on file for future orders. The have shops in London, New York, and Beverly Hills.
  
• Ascot Chang, Brooks Brothers, Gieves & Hawkes and 40 Savile Row also make custom shirts.
  
• To preserve the lifespan of your shirts, never use starch. It eats away the cotton and dries out the fiber.
