Course Description

Built on 163 acres, this course respects the island's flora, leaving as much natural landscape as possible. The course's front nine plays through old pineapple fields and deep valley gorges laced with Kiawe trees and rare regal Koa.

The back nine meander past pine cathedrals and thickets of eucalyptus with untrammeled views of neighboring Maui and Molokai and deliver a staggering finish: a 250-foot drop from the signature 17th hole to the deepest ravine on Lana'i.

Details

  • Course Designer: Greg Norman
  • Course Architect: Ted Robinson
  • Golf Professional: Brendan Moynahan, PGA

The hole's green is guarded to the right by a 70-foot sentinel eucalyptus, so play your drive to the left. And, trade winds usually blow to the right.

Trivia

In 1991, Jack Nicklaus opened the course with Greg Norman. Nicklaus hit seven straight balls into the pond right of the fairway. He eventually had to borrow a ball from Greg Norman to finish the hole. Nicklaus ended up shooting a 17 on the hole!
