2 1/4 cups water
3 Tbs. brown sugar
3 cinnamon sticks
16 cloves
1 tsp. allspice
peel from half an orange, sliced
1/2-cup orange juice
3 1/4 cups ruby port
1 cup orange liqueur
Instructions:
Combine ingredients except port and liqueur in a medium saucepan.
Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, stir until sugar dissolves. Boil five minutes. Remove from heat.
To serve warm: after removing mixture from heat add ruby port and orange liqueur. To serve chilled: after removing mixture from heat, refrigerate until chilled. Then add ruby port and orange liqueur.
