General Auctions
- Don't start bidding for your item right at the beginning.
- You must bid using one of three distinct methods.
- Verbal bids must be clear to avoid error and missed bargains.
- Phone bids will protect your identity.
- Absentee bids will keep you from overspending.
- Start to bid when it's down to two people, and one of them is hesitating.
- Avoid bidding in round numbers.
- Predetermine your bid range, or your final bid price.
- Despite the excitement, don't get carried away and over bid.
- Don't give up. Items that don't meet their reserve are often negotiable post auction.
