iDesign: Born to DesignGet an up-close look at the magic that happens when great form meets superior function. This one-hour special features three designers responsible for products we know and love, and whose work has set new standards for the products of tomorrow.
We start out with a visit to Hyundai's California Design Studio, where we meet Joel Piaskowski. After highlighting some of his forward-thinking "cars of the future," Joel explains the true definition of a concept car and provides us with a look at the rarely-seen design process. He also chronicles the evolution of the Hyundai Sonata and Santa Fe, revealing the development of the cars' personality and character.
Next: We "shoot for the stars" as we discover the cutting-edge designs of Dario Antonioni at Orange 22, where the future of furniture is taking shape. Dario's designs incorporate his passion for space travel and technology, and have the potential to change the way we live. Featured products include the Aurora table (a cocktail table that glows like the sky) and The Future Desk, which boasts work surfaces with touch-screen computers integrated into the top.
Then, in a meeting with Yves Behar of fuseproject, we discover a wide array of diverse and innovative designs within a multitude of products. Among fuseproject's ground-breaking accomplishments: Creative packaging for menswear, advanced technology for fabrics and future-oriented versions of ordinary products.
