Busy mother Noelle Hicks loves to entertain but lacks the indoor space to throw a party for a 30 guests in the winter. For help, she turns to event designer Jo Gartin to bring the party outdoors but maintain the warm and cozy "indoor" feel by enclosing the patio and draping it in rich fabrics.

Colorful décor drawn from the Mardi Gras celebration, creole inspired menu created by caterer Kathleen Sacchi and a retro-touch provided by cake decorator Joan Spitler round out the Carnivale festivities. The menu includes Arnaud's mushrooms Veronique, Mardi Gras salad, chicken and seafood jambalaya, French bread pudding with bourbon sauce and Dale DeGroff's hurricane cocktail.

The result is a fun and colorful party that keeps guests on their feet late into the night and gives Noelle an opportunity to spend cozy time with all of her closest friends in one unforgettable winter evening.
