Ramona Gaddis and Fanshen Cox sit with guests at their "Sunset Beach Party"; Malibu, Calif.

Sunset Beach Party (104)
Fanschen and Ramona are true Californian girls who love the beach--and would like to match make for their friends at a beach party. But they don't want to spend a lot of time preparing. The solution? A delicious menu that the hosts prepare ahead of time and guests cook as they get to know one another. Portable furniture, colorful seat cushions and go-anywhere grills round out the get-together.

  • Beach parties require some lifting. Make sure you have extra help.
  • Clean-up can be rough. Make sure to bring flashlights to light your way.
  • Do your homework. Make sure your beach allows cooking and alcohol.
  • Beach parties are great for friends who don’t mind pitching in.
  • Bags of rose petals are available through local flower markets.
  • Find sand dollars at party or discount stores for $1-2 each.
