Asian Design

This style takes its serene, calm environment from nature.
Nature infuses the serene, calming environment of Asian design.

This style usually refers to Japanese and Chinese influences. Raw materials like bamboo and nature's subtle colors help create tranquil surroundings. Furnishings characteristic of the look include shoji screens and rice-paper lanterns.

Chinese interiors draw on highly stylized furnishings featuring hand-painted designs on lacquered finishes, brightly colored accessories, and ornaments or statues of animals or mythical creatures. Red represents good luck.

Earth-tone tiling, multihued glass tiles, clean lines and distinctive accents create a large soaking tub in a Zen-inspired bathroom. A custom, cherry-wood-stained cabinet hides the oversized tub equipment, and artisan-created metalwork adds color and texture. Designer: Shelly Riehl David.
